Xinyi Dai M.D. / Ph.D

Associate Chief Physician · Dept. of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery · Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital

Xinyi Dai is an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is an AAPS Constable Fellow, a member of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS), and a recipient of Shanghai's Pujiang Talent Program.

From 2012 to 2016, supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), he pursued his doctoral studies at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, graduating with the highest distinction "Summa Cum Laude" in Plastic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine.

In 2014, selected through international competitive review from over 29 countries, he received the AAPS John D. Constable International Travelling Fellowship and was invited to train at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital, NYU Langone Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Hospital.

From 2016 to 2017, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany, focusing on the mechanisms of scarless wound healing and their translational applications. His representative paper was published in NPG Asia Materials (Nature portfolio) and highlighted in Science Translational Medicine.

He contributed to the Science special issue "125 Questions: Exploration and Discovery." He is the chief editor of a 100,000-word popular science book on tissue defect repair and regeneration, published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press.
